One of the extra bedrooms in our house does not have an exterior window. It has a window, and at one point it was an exterior window. However, an addition to the house over its lifetime has made it an interior window. Because of that, I have always struggled with how to use this room and what to do with it. After several years of this room functioning as a bedroom, we have decided to make this into an office / guest room combo.
Before we began designing this room, we headed to Pinterest for some inspiration. Here is the look I was going for:
Inspiration
I love so many things about this picture. I love how they were able to fit a daybed and a desk in such a small space, I love the colors, and I love the combination of art and mirrors on the wall.
In this space, I love how they were able to fit a day bed in such a small space. This space is personable and meaningful to the people that live there. The colors are also rich and compliment each other well. This daybed can be used as a couch or a daybed which is the perfect set up for a combination room.
This desk set up is awesome! I love the contrasting colors, the way the space uses every organization, and how functional it is. I won't be able to do something this big for my desk setup, but I would love to have this in a future house.
When I was coming up with inspiration for my space, I had a few things I wanted to accomplish with this room:
I wanted a space that was functional
I needed to be able to use it as guest room
I wanted to have an office set up that where I could have two monitors for work
I also wanted an area to store our work out gear
This is what I came up with for my vision board:
Stay tuned over the next couple weeks as I bring this vision to life!
